A Brief History

On November 14, 1786, eleven people entered into a compact to maintain religion in their town. This was the beginning of what is now called East Brookfield Baptist Church (EBBC). First located in the Harrington Street area just off of Route 9 in what is now called East Brookfield, MA, EBBC moved to its present location on Lake Lashaway in a newly built meeting house on March 4, 1840.

Affectionately known as the “church on the lake,” East Brookfield Baptist Church has grown over the years with several renovation and expansion projects to provide a vibrant, Bible-believing church.

    Thoughts From Our Pastor

Pastor Dennis Monroe
John 17:23 (CSB)
“I am in them and You are in Me. May they be made completely one, so the world may know You have sent Me and have loved them as You have loved Me.”

Since I became the pastor at EBBC in March of 2018, I have been welcomed in a loving way by the beautiful people here at our church. Though we believe strongly in Biblical truth, we are a loving church where everyone is welcomed. We are all imperfect humans in need of a perfect Savior, and that Savior is Jesus. As one person stated, “Jesus is looking for the real people”. Those that are honest about their own sinfulness, those that know they don’t measure up, those that know they have to be dependent on God.

East Brookfield Baptist Church is a place where Jesus is honored, the Bible, God’s Word, is preached and where all are welcomed to come and drink and find the only one who can satisfy the soul!
